The Beginning
AXIS started in 2019 with one single-family house in Orange City, Iowa, and a simple idea: improve the properties we buy and leave them better than we found them.
From the beginning, we believed that creating better places for residents and delivering lasting value for investors should never be separate priorities. With excellent stewardship, strong relationships, and a commitment to doing things the right way, they become part of the same responsibility.
That approach shaped who we are today. By putting people first, communicating openly, and consistently pursuing excellence, we earned the trust of our residents, investors, and communities. That trust became the foundation for our growth from one property to a growing portfolio and an expanding presence across the Midwest.

Co-Founder and CEO
Tyler Spaans is the Co-Founder and CEO of AXIS, where he helps lead the company’s vision, growth, and investment strategy. With a passion for real estate and building meaningful partnerships, Tyler works closely with investors and partners to create long-term value.
Adam Howerzyl
Co-Founder and COO
Adam serves as Chief Operating Officer of AXIS, bringing operational expertise built in the company's property management division. In this role, Adam is responsible for the overall performance, condition, and resident experience of the AXIS portfolio, ensuring properties are well cared for, run efficiently, and provide residents with a strong living experience. As COO he extends that same operational discipline across the company, aligning property management with acquisitions, development, asset management, and fund management to keep AXIS running as one cohesive, well-managed platform.
Ross Groeneweg
Director of Operations
Ross Groeneweg is the Director of Operations at AXIS, where he helps oversee the property management company’s day-to-day operations and ensures our teams and properties are running efficiently. With a focus on accountability, execution, and continuous improvement, Ross works across the organization to keep AXIS moving forward and delivering on its commitment to excellence.

Investor Relations
Nathan Bolkema leads Investor Relations at AXIS, where he works closely with investors to build strong, lasting relationships. Nathan is available to answer questions, provide guidance, and help investors better understand AXIS and the opportunities we pursue.
